Camping Stoves

Bring a portable camping stove when you camp with us at Santiago Retreat Center. Tent camping is $15 per night, and RV camping is $25 per night.

Camping stoves vary in weight and size… some are as small to put in your backpack for backpacking trips… while others have two burners and can be used to cook food for a big family or group of people. Most camping stoves have a push button ignition, but it’s always a good idea to bring matches in case the ignition doesn’t work. If the burner doesn’t come with a bag to protect it, you can often buy a padded bag. Also, make sure to bring extra fuel for the stove – whether it uses propane, butane, isobutene, white gas, etc.

Camping stoves can be bought at retailers like Cabelas, Overstock.com, Target, Walmart, and Amazon.com

We look forward to having you stay with us soon!

RV camping is $25 a night with full hook ups and tent camping is $15 per night. We are located right off Santiago Canyon Road - right where the race will be! You can even ride your bike to the race. We have biking and hiking trails here at the event center. Visit our website for more information: www.santiagoretreatcenter.org

We look forward to seeing you!

Here is more information about the Orange County Duathlon:
http://www.octriseries.com/

From octriseries:
"The 5th Annual O.C. Duathlon is the 2010 USAT Southwest Regional Duathlon Championship. The race will be held on Saturday May 22nd in Lake Forest, CA. This year's race will be limited to 500 competitors and is part of the Aquahydrate O.C. Triathlon Series Championship In conjunction with the O.C. Duathlon we have added the Saddleback Community 5K. This means family & friends as well as local runners can join in the fun and do the 5K while the Duathlon Bike Portion is in progress. Cost is $25 (Limited to 500).

The race course will consist of a 5 K run, 40K bike & 5 K run. The bike portion will go into Santiago Canyon and then return to Lake Forest. This course is very similar to the Orange County International Triathlon at Lake Mission Viejo; we will use the same bike course and part of the run course of the Duathlon for the OC Tri. The OC Duathlon will start at 7:00am along the Aliso Creek Bike Trail next to El Toro Rd & Marguerite Pkwy. The Saddleback Community 5k will start at 7:40am along the Bike Trail as well. The finish of both the OC Duathlon and Saddleback 5k will be on the bije trail near the transition area.

After hosting the Pacific Coast Triathlon for twelve years and the O.C. International Triathlon for the past two years we have a reputation of putting on a quality event, having been honored by Competitor and Triathlete Magazines as one of the top races in the United States. The pursuit of this excellence is always a guiding purpose for our races and the Orange County Duathlon will be no different."
